PointsWill the Republicans keep control of the US Senate at the 3 November midterms?
All 435 House seats, a class of Senate seats and 36 governorships are contested at the United States midterm elections on 3 November 2026. Republicans currently hold the Senate majority, which decides whose nominations and bills reach a vote. The Associated Press calls each race as counting is completed.
Resolves: 15 December 2026 •
Source: Associated Press race calls Rule: Resolves YES once Associated Press race calls, combined with senators not up for election in 2026, give the Republican Party 50 or more of the 100 Senate seats for the Congress seated in January 2027, with the tie-breaking vote of the sitting Vice-President counting for the Republicans in the event of a 50-50 split. Resolves NO if Democrats and senators caucusing with them reach 51 or more. Party switches, resignations and appointments after election day do not change the outcome. If AP has not called enough races to determine control by 15 December 2026, the poll is voided and points are returned.
